Birch sauna whisk Premium

A whisk made from birch twigs is considered almost ideal for the sauna, as birch has properties that cleanse the internal organs and the skin through the inhaled steam and massage of the skin’s surface. As is well known, cleansing the body is the first step towards recovery. Birch twigs are flexible and the leaves stay supple even after drying.

When water is poured on the stones, the porous birch leaves cling well to the body, absorbing sweat and the toxins released with it and cleansing the pores. Open pores allow the skin to breathe and take in beneficial substances. That is why a birch whisk is often used during the first two sauna rounds, so that the medicinal plants used afterwards have a stronger effect. The birch buds retained on the twigs contain essential oils, flavonoids, several kinds of biologically active substances, resins and bitter compounds.
