Birch sauna whisk with herbs

A whisk made from birch twigs is considered almost ideal for the sauna, as birch has properties that cleanse the internal organs and the skin through the inhaled steam and massage of the skin’s surface. As is well known, cleansing the body is the first step towards recovery. Birch twigs are flexible and the leaves stay supple even after drying.

When water is poured on the stones, the porous birch leaves cling well to the body, absorbing sweat and the toxins released with it and cleansing the pores. Open pores allow the skin to breathe and take in beneficial substances. As they warm up, the herbs in the whisk release a blended fragrance into the dense, humid air of the steam bath; breathing it in cleanses the lungs and, in turn, the entire circulatory system.
