A mint whisk is known as a menthol whisk and is often used in the sauna on its own or combined with other plants. Mint helps create an aromatherapy atmosphere and is used for massage treatments.

Massage with sprigs of this plant is done mainly by pressing them against the face, neck and hands, as mint has rejuvenating and soothing effects. This is thanks to essential oils, pinene, phellandrene, menthofuran and other substances it contains. These components are also antibacterial and dilate blood vessels, making breathing easier for people with asthma.
